Yoga therapy is the therapeutic use of yoga to address a diverse range of physical and emotional issues. It is tailored to the individual needs of the client with the aim of reducing symptoms and promoting better health. Using yoga techniques such as postures, pranayama and relaxation the sessions are designed to provide a gentle, holistic approach to developing a positive state of health. Yoga therapy can help clients manage conditions such as chronic back pain, asthma, chronic fatigue, poor sleep and IBS. No previous experience of yoga is necessary.
I turned to Yoga in 1996 to help with chronic back pain, limited movement and poor sleep. Over the years I have tried various styles of yoga and finally found Dru Yoga in 2010. I found Dru Yoga much more accessible and adaptable to the needs of my body and I started the Dru Yoga Teacher training the following year. I have now successfully completed the 200hr/2 year Dru Yoga Teacher training, the Dru Back Care foundation course and the 500hr/2 year Dru Yoga Therapy diploma which is accredited by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
